AJ Venter, South Africa’s only entrant into the manic Isle of Man TT race, has received a major boost to his racing program in the form of a 3-year multi-million rand sponsorship deal from FuturExotics.
South African Motorcycle Champ set for Isle of Man
AJ Venter is a South African motorcycle racing royalty, a young man with years of racing experience and achievements that could take a lifetime to accumulate. AJ is the lone South African entrant into the legendary Isle of Man TT race, a feat that he has completed 8 times already; not an easy task when one considers the time and cost factor of merely getting to the race, let alone the skill required to complete the 37.73-mile street race course on the Isle of Man and place.
AJ has succeeded at the Isle and almost didn’t make it last year when sponsorship issues nearly scuppered his race attempt. This year and for the next three going forward, he will be able to concentrate on the race and not have to worry about the bike or the financial aspect of the race campaign, as South African businessman Zunaid Modi and the FuturExotic team have come on board with a hefty 4.6 million rand sponsorship deal.
The deal
The sponsorship arrangement will see FuturExotics sponsor a fully prepped race machine, entry, travel, and logistics so that Venter and his team can fly the South African flag high at the most dangerous and deadly road race in the world. The multi-million-dollar deal will extend for three years from 2025, ensuring that AJ can aim for a podium at the most challenging race any rider can ever hope to compete in.
The Bike

For his 2025 Isle of Man TT campaign, Venter will take to the track on a completely overhauled 2024 BMW S 1000 RR – a high-performance superbike that has undergone an extensive and costly transformation by his specialist race team. Every component has been fine-tuned for optimal speed, stability, and control to meet the extreme demands of the gruelling course. The modifications alone equate to the cost of the original bike itself, underscoring the precision engineering and state-of-the-art performance upgrades required to compete at this level.
Extensive custom modifications and upgrades include:
- K-Tech front and rear suspension – Specially designed race suspension for superior handling, precision, and control on high-speed corners and jumps.
- Mototec Software – Custom Electric Control Unit (ECU) tuning to extract maximum power and torque, calibrated specifically for the unique demands of the TT.
- Fairing kit – A complete aerodynamic bodywork upgrade to enhance stability at speeds exceeding 300 km/h and reduce drag.
- Quick action throttle – Optimised throttle response for instant acceleration and race-level control.
- Lightweight lithium battery – Reducing weight while providing maximum electrical efficiency.
- Extended 24 ℓ fuel tank and upgraded fuel cap—These Modifications increase endurance and allow for fewer fuel stops, giving the vehicle a competitive advantage.
- Mototec GPS – Real-time telemetry tracking and performance analytics to fine-tune race-day strategies.
The extensive modifications have turned this BMW S 1000 RR into a one-of-a-kind racing machine, purpose-built for the fast, technical, and physically demanding Isle of Man TT course.
The Isle
The Isle of Man TT or Tourist Trophy races are an annual motorcycle racing event run on the Isle of Man in May and June of most years since its inaugural race in 1907. Isle of Man TT is run in a time-trial format on public roads closed to the public by an Act of Tynwald. The event consists of one week of practice and qualifying sessions, followed by one week of racing. Since its inception, almost every year that the event has run, it has claimed the life or lives of entrants, hence earning its reputation of being the most deadly and dangerous road race in the world.
AJ Venter will campaign his BMW S1000RR in three categories over the course of the race: Superbike, SuperStock, and Senior TT classes, going up against some of the best road racers in the world. We wish AJ Venter the best of luck in his endeavours to bring home gold for South Africa and extend our deepest thanks to Zunaid Modi and the FuturExotcis team for helping AJ get there and show the world of motorcycling what we can do!
